Refund policy
Last updated August 12, 2026. This is our own document, written by the operator of BroomDesk. It is not legal advice from a law firm, and it is not a substitute for advice about your own business.
The short version
- The 14 day trial takes no card and produces no charge, so there is never anything to refund from it. You only ever pay after you choose a plan and complete Stripe checkout yourself.
- Your first payment on any plan is covered for 30 days. Ask and you get it back. No reason needed, no retention call.
- Email support@broomdesk.com or use the contact form. We reply within one business day and the money goes back to the card you paid with.
- A refund ends the subscription. Your account stays readable for at least 90 days so you can take your records with you, and we delete it when you ask.
- SMS credits: unspent packs are refundable within 30 days of buying them. Segments already sent are not, because the carrier has already charged for delivering them.
The summary is here to be read. The full text below is what applies.
The trial
The trial runs 14 days with full Pro features. Signing up asks for an email address and a password, not a card, and we hold no card while it runs. Nothing is charged at the end of it either: the trial cannot become a payment on its own, because there is nothing to charge.
You start paying only when you pick a plan in billing settings and complete Stripe checkout. Trial days you have left are carried into that subscription, so the first payment comes when they run out. That first payment is the one the 30 day guarantee below covers.
30 day money-back guarantee
Your first subscription payment on any plan is refundable in full for 30 days from the date of that payment. It applies to monthly and annual billing alike, and it applies whether you used the product heavily or not at all.
You do not have to explain yourself. We may ask what went wrong, once, because it is useful to know. Saying nothing does not change the outcome.
How to ask
Email support@broomdesk.com from the address on the account, or use the contact form, and say you want the money-back guarantee. There is no self-serve refund button in the app today, which is why this is a one-line email rather than a form.
We answer within one business day. The refund is issued through Stripe to the original payment method. Stripe usually completes it in 5 to 10 business days, and how quickly it shows on your statement is down to your bank rather than to us. Taxes collected on the payment are refunded with it.
Renewals after the first payment
Renewals are not covered by the guarantee. Cancel before a renewal date and you are not charged for the next period.
One exception, because forgetting an annual renewal is a real thing that happens to real people: if an annual renewal charges and you contact us within 72 hours, having not used the account since it renewed, we refund it. Ask and we will sort it.
If you upgrade mid-period, the prorated amount is not separately refundable. Downgrade instead and the change takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.
What a refund does to your account
Refunding the subscription cancels it. From that point the account is read-only: everything is still visible, exports still work, but nothing sends and no new bookings are accepted. That lasts at least 90 days. Export your clients, visits, invoices and payroll periods to CSV from the app, which still works while the account is read-only, and email us if you want a full copy of everything else.
We delete the data when you ask us to, within 30 days of the request. There is no job that deletes it for you on day 91, so an account you leave alone stays read-only until you say otherwise. The retention section of the privacy policy sets out what we keep afterwards and why.
Subscribing again inside the 90 days restores the account completely. Checkout will quote the current price, so email us first and we put you back on the price you originally had.
SMS credits
SMS credits are bought separately from your plan as one-time packs, currently 500 outbound segments for $10. They do not expire and they are not part of the subscription.
- Unspent credits from a pack bought in the last 30 days are refundable. We refund the pack and remove the matching credits from the balance.
- Spent segments are not refundable. A segment that left the platform was paid for at the carrier, whether it was the message you meant to send or not.
- Undelivered messages. If a batch failed because of a fault on our side rather than a bad number or a carrier block, tell us and we credit the segments back to your balance.
- Credits are not exchangeable for cash after 30 days and do not transfer between accounts.
Payments your clients make to you
Money your clients pay for cleaning goes to your own Stripe account through Stripe Connect. It never passes through us, so we cannot refund it. You issue those refunds yourself from the payment record in the app, under whatever cancellation and refund terms you give your clients. This policy covers only what you pay BroomDesk.
Chargebacks
If something looks wrong on your bill, write to us first. A chargeback against a platform subscription locks the account while the bank investigates, which helps nobody. A refund is faster than a dispute and we would rather just give you the money back.
Questions
Anything about a charge, a refund, or a payment you do not recognise. Email support@broomdesk.com, or use the contact form. We reply within one business day.
